Last week, we hosted our first event of 2025 with a sold-out session, "Predictions & Resolutions," featuring expert insights on the future of workplaces. 

Our 2025 President, Sally Marshall, opened the event with predictions on lease extensions, phased refurbishments, and the growing focus on sustainability, flexible design, and enhanced customer experience in evolving workspaces. 

Keynote speaker, Economist Dimitri Zenghelis, shared that the shift to a net-zero emissions economy is not only urgent but full of growth opportunities. With renewable energy technologies like solar and wind reshaping industries, the transition is happening fast, and proactive management will be key to harnessing its potential. 

Elaine Du Preez, Senior Manager of Workplace Design at Salesforce, revealed post-pandemic trends: employees are craving collaborative, personalised, and home-like workspaces that balance individual preferences with shared environments. Success will depend on strategic office designs and fostering inclusivity. 

Bertie Van Wyk, Senior Insight Strategist at Miller Knoll, discussed the intensifying return-to-office debate. Companies will thrive by fostering strong relationships, balancing flexibility, and considering sustainability in office designs.
