In April, Corenet UK launched a NEW mentoring programme to benefit our membership. We ran a pilot to kick off the programme and to test a particular approach. Following feedback from our participants we have realised that this approach was not sufficient to meet your needs and we have therefore recalibrated our offering and are relaunching it November 16th. You are invited to attend and to hear more about how this initiative will be delivered. The Corenet Mentoring Programme is based on providing a role model mentoring scheme. This is a confidential, one on one, non-judgmental relationship in which one person (the mentor) voluntarily gives his or her time to support, advise or encourage another (the mentee). The mentor is generally more experienced than the mentee and usually in the same or a similar field. So our first step is to invite you to become part of a formal mentoring database and to match you with an appropriate Mentor or Mentee. This will be based on matching your needs and interests to those of your Mentee or Mentor. Before you committ to your match, you will have an opportunity to meet and decide if you feel you could form a productive working relationship with them. You will be fully supported in terms of guidance notes, frameworks and appropriate support in terms of paperwork, to enable you to get the most out of the meetings. You will also have the support of a Programme Manager who will conduct 90 and 180 day reviews of how the meetings are progressing and offer any additional support that might be needed. Many mentors value refreshing their own experiences and knowledge and also gaining an understanding of a different viewpoints and skills, along with the satisfaction of helping fellow professionals realise their potential. Benefits include but are not limited to the following: Benefits to a Mentee
Benefits to a Mentor
Given the relaunch of the programme, we would like to invite you to attend a kickoff meeting to tell you more about how we plan to deliver the changes and what we will be offering in 2017 to support you with this initiaitive. The new design will not only give you access to support in terms of structure and approach, but also provide skill development modules which will benefit you in all aspects of your professional life, not just mentoring or being mentored!
